Come prepared for a great week of fun and growth!
Children age Pre-K thru 5th grade will start the day with everyone together in the worship space to sing, have fun, and watch some skits and videos about the day's message.
They will then rotate through different activities: see a dramatic presentation of the day's message, learn the music, make a craft that reminds you of that message, eat some great snacks, and play some fun games!
They will then come back together with everyone in the worship space, revved up for some for some more singing, skits, and fun!
Preschoolers will be grouped together and remain in one location where the activities will be brought to them.
Children must be potty-trained.
Fill out one form per child.
Drama/Storytelling Assist with set-up/take-down of scenery and props; possibly play a character for the day or even take ownership and responsibility for gathering props for a day. This activity occurs outdoors for older kids, indoors for preschool.
Spotlight Drama Take photos of children during the day and insert them into a pre-made Powerpoint template that re-tells the day's story. Must be able to work efficiently with a partner and interact well with children. Computer skills and experience with a digital or cell-phone camera are helpful.
Sticky Scripture Helper Assist the Sticky Scripture Leader as children are led through the day's Bible reading. Hand out supplies and provide individual assistance.
Crew Helper Assist the Crew Leader and the children in a Crew throughout the day. In this role you will stay with one Crew for the entire week.
Snacks Help with Snack set-up and clean-up; simple food prep; deliver snack trays to preschool Crews; assist with Friday's Ice Cream Social.
Crafts Help with set up Craft projects and clean up after; assist children who might need extra help. If you wish, you may be able to present the Craft project to the Preschool Crews.
Games Help with Games, including setup and takedown. This activity will occur outdoors, weather permitting.
Closing All Apprentices may have the opportunity to assist with Closing.
Apprentices may get two roles during the week; if so, you will do one for the first part of the week and change to the other for the second part of the week.
Crew Leader/Assistant Guide a group of K–5th grade children from station to station during VBS. Be a friend and help them develop relationships with others.
K–5 Story Teller Gather supplies and teach the Bible story to children K–5th grade in a dramatic fashion each day. This activity occurs outdoors. Youth may be available to assist.
Sticky Scripture Leader Talk with children about the day's Bible Verse, help them find and mark it in their Bibles, and let them experience an energetic interactive video that reinforces the lessons.
Games Coordinator Collect props and implement games that relate to the day’s activities. This activity occurs outdoors. Youth may be available to assist.
Snack Team Plan and gather necessary items and prepare snacks for children during the week.
Crafts Leader/Assistant Assist children who need help with crafts. Leader plans crafts and ensures that supplies are available for the week.
Preschool Leader/Assistant Guide a group of 3–5 year-olds through all of the week's activities (crafts, snacks, etc). Preschool groups do not move between stations.
Preschool Story Teller Gather supplies and teach the Bible story to preschool children in a dramatic fashion each day. This activity occurs indoors. Youth may be available to assist.
Behind the Scenes Assistant Assist with shopping, paperwork or decorating projects as needed prior to VBS week and/or during the week of the program.
Assist with Closing Various roles, as needed.
