St. Paul's Mission to Serve team is Gathered by God to Share the Love of Jesus with a goal of blessing ministries by physically serving alongside them - when possible - and by making financial contributions to chosen organizations. 100% of the Mission to Serve contributions are forwarded to the recipient organization.
Current Mission
To Love A Child (TLC)
To Love A Child is a local non-profit founded by Cindy Schmehl in response to a calling after she and her husband visited Zimbabwe. Based in Clifton Park, the 20-year-old nonprofit founded and run by Schmehl has built a school, hosted medical clinics, drilled wells, installed purified water and irrigation systems and planted what they call forests and fields of produce to feed the children and their families.
After prayer, reflection and heartfelt consideration, Cindy will be retiring, and To Love A Child Inc will close their doors on May 31, 2026. TLC is making a final trip to Zimbabwe in March 2026 to hand over the ongoing projects to village elders, teachers and students to empower them for the future. Rotary of Zimbabwe will be assisting in the transition.
TLC is hosting one final fund raising push to finalize the ongoing projects in Zimbabwe, Haiti and the USA, to ensure that each program is left strong, sustainable and in caring hands. There will also be a Last Hoorah celebration Friday, April 30 at The Factory in Ballston Spa. Write the directoratTLC@aol.com to participate, and check the website and Facebook for updates.
